Sussex County Emergency Management's Volunteer Team for response to disasters involving Animals.
Volunteers are needed to assist with response to both small and large scale disasters. Training is provided for many positions within the organization including: Liason with the Red Cross, Animal Care and Sheltering, Animal Handling, Animal First Aid, Animal Rescue in a Disaster, CART Team Dispatcher.
Sussex CART has responded to numerous disasters including the Newton Able Enegery Incident, Flooding in Montague, Flooding in Sparta, and Hurricane Katrina.
